Historic Landmarks Commission

2100 Randolph Road

Charlotte, NC 28207

Dear Members of the Commission,

I would like to request a recommendation be made to the Town of Huntersville from you that the historical designation of a portion of my property be removed. The parcel of concern is shown as "Parcel A" on the attached Exhibit A. This "Parcel A" is a portion of 62.36 acres as described in Book 1026Q Page 211, Mecklenburg County Registry, Mecklenburg County Tax Parcel # 009-061-07. The land is now the subject of a sales contract between me and the Lake Forest Community Church. They would like to erect their church building on this site and have indicated their willingness to work with you as far as buffering, etc., to make the site an attractive neighbor for the Cedar Grove and Hugh Torrance properties.

As you know, our family has always been interested in preservation and the history of the area. We have been very selective in even entertaining offers on our property. We certainly would not consider selling this beautiful land for housing development.

I hope that the Commission will act favorably on this request and forward your recommendation for removal of the historic designation on this parcel to the Town of Huntersville without delay.

Thaw you,

Margaret P. Banks
