These are the materials you will be considering for Certificate of Appropriateness 17-01 for the Parks Cramer Building.  I have no problem with any aspect of the proposed plan except the treatment of the northern facade of the Pipe Shed Building.  This was intended to be a simple, industrial building.  The proposal is to "dress it up."  Please consult the Secretary of the Interior's Standards.
This is a drawing of the parking/courtyard area in the roadway connecting the two parking lots.  Taking into account Frances Alexander's comments at the last meeting, I believe this concept is in keeping with the industrial history of the property.
Here we see the concept for the treatment of the alleyway and the northern end of the Pipe Shed Building.  They propose to place a window (left) and a door (right) in the end of the building, which is now a solid brick wall. The faux freight door in the middle mimics the doors on the western elevation of the building.
I am a supporter of adaptive reuse.  However, I do not believe the propose treatment of the building meets the Secretary of the Interior's Standards, because it alters the historic character of the building.
