This
remarkable photograph was taken just after the Great Catawba
River Flood of July 1916. It shows the remnants of the
Southern Railroad Bridge across the Catawba River. The
stone pillars are still evident.
Louis Asbury designed Myers Park
Methodist Church. Notice the overhead wires that powered streetcars
along Queens Road until 1938.
This 1907 shows Louis
Asbury, Charlotte's first native architect. He is on this side of the table
looking backwards.
