Charlotte Auditorium
Shown in a 1924 postcard, Charlotte Auditorium stood at the corner of N.
College and 5th St. Part of the building was moved to Tuckaseegee Rd. to
serve as a church and is still there.
The "Meck Dec"
Charlotte's 1910 "Meck Dec" day celebration. The "Meck Dec" is the
Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, which is commemorated with an
observance each May 20th.
Mint and Old Post Office
1906 postcard featuring the then-new post office (the large brick building
on the left) built at a cost of $85,000 and the U. S. Assay Office (formerly
the U. S. Mint) on the right.
