Mr. Parker called the meeting to order. The following projects were discussed.

Rural Hill Schoolhouse

Mr. Brooks, project architect, presented two plans for the Auxiliary Building for the Davidson Schoolhouse, circa 1890, at Rural Hill. Plan A, which can be completed for the $100,000 allocated, contains a single bathroom, is open sided, and, like both plans, uses the roof structure of the circa 1913 schoolhouse, which was knocked down in a storm. Plan A features one bathroom and has permanent benches. Plan B, the upgrade alternative which would cost approximately $150,000, would be screened in and would have one toilet for males, two for females, but would not have permanent benches for seating.

After discussion about the two plans, the Committee directed Mr. Brooks to return to the next Projects Committee meeting with an expandable plan that is within the $100,000 appropriated budget.

Fireman’s Hall (Palmer Fire School

Barwick Associates will be purchasing the property for $400,000.00 and is engaged in final contract negotiations.

McAuley House

Mr. Turner and Dr. Morrill will be overseeing the removal of the house from its current site and its placement at a temporary staging area as directed by the Historic Landmarks Commission.
