Re: Archives and History Comments on the Prospective Designation of
Restormel as a historic landmark.
As mandated by State Law, the Division of Archives and History has
commented upon the prospective designation of Restormel as a historic
landmark. Despite being tardy, the comment has been received and
suggests that several questions need to be addressed before the
demonstration of special significance can be validated. It is the
purpose of this document to attempt to answer these questions and thereby
validate the claim for special significance.
1. The comment notes that no interiors of the buildings have been
described in the Survey and Research Report. According to State
Statute, interiors of structures can only be designated with owner's
consent. The owner has not consented to interior designation.
Consequently, no interior descriptions are required.
2. The comment states that no tax map was included with the Survey
and Research Report. A tax map has been added to the report and has
been sent to the Division of Archives and History.
