Re: Eckerd Corporation ("Eckerd") Distribution
Center
1776 Statesville Ave.
Charlotte, N.C.
Dear Mr. Gray:
Your correspondence dated February 13, 2003 (a copy
of which is attached for your convenience) was forwarded to me for review
and response on behalf of Eckerd. Eckerd objects to the proposal
that the former Ford Motor Company Plant, located at 1830 Statesville
Avenue, Charlotte, North Carolina, be designated as a Historic Landmark.
To be clear, Eckerd objects to the designation of any of the property or
buildings that it owns on the land associated with the the parcel numbers
set forth in your letter, or otherwise, as a Historic Landmark.
Eckerd's objection is based upon the understanding
by Eckerd that such a designation would result in restrictions on Eckerd's
ability to make alterations or changes to its property.
If you have any questions in this matter, please
contact me directly on behalf of Eckerd.
Very truly yours,
ECKERD CORPORATION
