RECOMMENDATIONS

1. MR. RITCH PRESENTED A MOTION SECONDED BY MS. RICHARDSON TO RECOMMEND TO THE HISTORIC LANDMARKS COMMISSION THAT THE STREETCAR/TROLLEY BARN AT THE CORNER OF 1300 SOUTH BOULEVARD AND 300 BLAND STREET BE PLACED ON THE HLC’S STUDY LIST AND THAT THE STANDARD SURVEY AND RESEARCH REPORT BE PREPARED. THE COMMITTEE UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE MOTION.

2. MS. BRICKEY PRESENTED A MOTION SECONDED BY MR. CHAMBERS THAT MS. COX , ON BEHALF OF THE SURVEY COMMITTEE, COMPILE AND PUBLISH ON THE HLC’S WEBSITE GUESTBOOK, UNDER THE SURVEY SECTION, BY MIDNIGHT, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2001, CONSIDERATIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONDITIONS THE COMMITTEE EXPRESSED REGARDING THE STREETCAR/TROLLEY BARN AT THE CORNER OF 1300 SOUTH BOULEVARD AND 300 BLAND STREET. THE COMMITTEE UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE MOTION. (To be attached to the minutes).

 

Notes:

- Mr. Montgomery and Mr. McCoy updated the Committee on the restoration progress of the Grinnell/General Fire Extinguisher Complex (office building at 1431 W. Morehead St. & Manufacturing Plant at 1408 Bryant Street). Ms. Cox reminded everyone present that Survey and Research reports to be considered by the Survey Committee are due 10 days before a scheduled Survey Committee meeting. Survey Committee meeting dates and business to be considered at meetings can be found on the HLC’s website: www.historiclandmarks.org., along with forms, tax credit information, etc. The next meeting is scheduled for October 18, 2001 at 6:00 p.m. at the HLC office.

- Ms. Cox asked the Committee members to file the distributed Study List and Inventory List as a reference for future considerations.

- Ms. Cox asked the Committee members to be considering

recommendations for funding future Survey and Research reports.
