Queens Terrace Apartments
1300 Queens Road Charlotte, Mecklenburg c. 1961 Queens
Terrace Apartments are now Queens Towers Condominiums.
Located on Queens Road, this building is situated in the midst of
older single family homes, although additional apartment buildings have
been constructed in this neighborhood.
The building is irregularly shaped with three stories resting on
concrete columns or stilts which allow for parking areas under the
building. The flat roof has
deep eaves. Balconies with concrete floors are located throughout and the windows are alumnium framed casements. The site includes mature trees and landscape elements, a swimming pool, parking lot, and car ports. Designed by Louis H. Asbury & Associates, the building is an excellent example of a Modernist apartment building that retains a high level of integrity.
